The try
I really enjoyed this fit. Probably one of the best fall fits I've put together this year. A classic pop of red, matched subtly with the socks and the hat's B emblem. And you can't go wrong with some classic Levi's 501s. The little silver Casio was enough for this.
blog idea born here ↓I wore this fit to get some coffee with my wife at a coffee shop, and I actually got the idea for this blog there. And so now here we are.
Somebody told me my socks were really cool, so I guess that's enough of a win for me. I paired this fit with Cyklar bergamot body lotion and Sex Musk body oil.
It was also really funny to lay it out on the floor like this.
The pieces
- Elwood red distressed hoodie. Can't remember the price
- Boston Red Sox '47 hat, classic beige, red and blue. $35
- Uniqlo nylon tote. $20
- Levi's 501s, straight leg. $45
- Cold Culture Red Sox. A gift
- Grey leather Vans. $30, on discount
- Casio watch, silver. A gift
On the Vans: I love these. Because they're leather, you can dress them up a bit more, but they're still Vans, haha. I went through a bring-Vans-back mood this summer. Two good, versatile pairs of shoes for $70 is hard to beat.
What I liked / what I didn't
- It's a fit you don't have to think hard about, and it works well
- A good hat fit gives you something to go with when your hair won't listen. With my curly, grown-out hair, that can be clutch.
- It was funny to lay out on the floor
- Maybe the tote bag. If I had a different color, or one with a more niche reference, this fit could have been a bit better.
Bottom line
Hate to be biased, but it's a hard fit to hate. I'm not saying it's the best fit ever, but it was casual enough for what I was doing, and the tote and hat really brought it together.
keep + repeat ✓Keep and repeat. Great for the casual guy: maybe a college dude going to study, or going out to get a bite to eat with his boys.
